Tasting Date: 28/7/2017

Tasting Time: 2330

Tasting: Neat

Nose:

A gentle Springbank-peat smoke combined with a pretty sweet biscuit notes. Chocolate wafer. Oh very mineral. Very briny and mineral. Rock. Seaside rock to be specific. Breezy, salty. Old book dust, wood dust. Kind of milky and creamy. Very very complex. This is a seriously good nose. Some burnt rubber and leathery notes appear after few minutes. / 23.0

Palate:

A very nice salty palate. Mineral, pretty smoky. Touch of mint, limestone. Very soft and delicate mouth feel. Little bit of sweetness. Herbal, liquorice. / 22.5

Finish:

Saline, smoky, bitter oranges, hot lemon tea. Some sort of almond and some nutty notes. Medium long finish. I really like the smoky background. / 17.5

Balance:

What can I say? This whisky is so balance and harmony. Every notes are blended so well that I can just called them "Springbank Nose" or "Springbank Palate". / 22.0

Price:

The price for this put those expensive NAS to shame. / 5.0

Final Verdict:

This has to be the best 10YO standard bottling in the entire whisky market. The complexity put some older whiskies to shame, and the price makes this whisky a steal. Please go to your nearest liquor store and buy one. You won't regret it. Note: I shall remind you that this might not be a suitable whisky for novice. / 90.0
