Tasting Time: 2200
Tasting: Neat
Nose:
Pungent sweet ashy smoke, what's that? I'll called it smoked Taiwanese sausages. Pretty briny behind the smoke curtain, citrusy, lemon perhaps? Surprisingly fresh nose. After a tiny sip, burnt rubber starting to appear. Arthichoke yes. Fiery kaya. The sweetness is completely flux in the ashy smoke. Great nose! / 23.0
Palate:
Sweeet!! Smoked almond! Oily and nutty. The mouth feel is really good, coats your tongue perfectly. Bang in your mouth! Ashy at the same time. Just a nice touch of burnt sensation. / 21.5
Finish:
Dried smoke. Bitter oranges and herbs. Warmth in your throat down to your chest. A bloody damn good winter dram. And it's pretty pretty long! / 18.0
Balance:
I like how the sweetness combo with the ashy smoke. The alcohol strength is just nice. / 21.0
Price:
This Lagavulin AR is always one of the cheapest among the series. BFYB. / 4.5
Final Verdict:
As usual, Lagavulin never disappoint. This is one of the best 12YO CS I've tasted. Go and buy one and savor this lovely whisky as soon as you can!/ 88.0
